Brandi Stephens, PhD

Brandi Stephens, Ph.D., serves the Director of Strategic Research Development in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford School of Medicine. Since 2022, she has supported faculty and fellows in securing more than $85 million in research funding. In addition, she has increased fellowship and career development award success rates, resulting in over $15 million secured for the next generation of independent investigators. A cardiovascular physiologist by training, she is an expert in grantsmanship, including grant program development and providing structured 1:1 support. She is focused on scaling these systems and on continuing to build an environment where investigators at every career stage have the strategic support needed to secure funding.
