RD Certificate Program
The Research Development (RD) Certificate for postdoctoral scholars is offered through the Stanford Research Development Community of Practice to provide research development education and practice. Research development (learn more about RD) is integral to the professional development of many postdocs, both those seeking academic careers and those interested in grant writing, grant management, scientific program administration, or scientific editing careers. This certificate provides a framework to build your skills, practice new techniques, and reflect on the experience. The certificate can be completed in one year or over the course of several years. The didactic training, RD internship, and career transition phases of the program are designed to give the pedagogical knowledge and practical experience to launch your career in RD.
Participation in the RD certificate program is voluntary and must be approved by your faculty sponsor. We recommend discussing your plans in the context of your Individual Development Plan.
The 2025/2026 program is now closed. Please check back for updates on our 2026/2027 program.
